From offer to keys in England

An accepted offer starts the next round of checks. In England, an offer is not legally binding until contracts are exchanged.

Arrange finance, choose a conveyancer and confirm the survey scope. Review title, searches, lease documents where relevant, and questions raised by the survey.

Agree exchange and completion dates through the conveyancer once the outstanding questions are resolved. Chains, searches and mortgage conditions can change timing; a target date is not a guarantee.
